2015-2016 School Governance Model Feedback
As an update, I am attaching the departments' feedback on the proposed updates to our school governance model here. See the original description of the proposed model here. So far each of the departments has been in favor of the revised ILT and the addition of a school operations team. We still need the feedback from the science department, as well as from our VAPA, PE, and WL teachers.
As I noted on Thursday, per the contract, the decision whether to establish a shared decision-making body is to be made by the UBC and administration, together with the faculty at each site. I will meet with the UBC to discuss the proposal on Tuesday after school. We will update the staff on the discussion following the meeting. If we are in agreement, each department will be asked to identify its representatives to the ILT and School Operations Teams by the following week, with the goal of having these teams finalize our 2015-2016 revised bell schedule and school year calendar prior to the end of the year
Please Welcome Thao Nguyen - NEW
Please join me in welcoming Thao Nguyen, our new Vietnamese-bilingual secretary in the main office! Thao holds a bachelors degree in hospitality management, and worked in the hospitality industry here in San Francisco prior to joining us. In addition to supporting communication with our Vietnamese-speaking families, Thao will have a number of responsibilities, including maintaining all attendance records, and managing the school calendar and website (yes, just ONE person to send things to now - I heard that loud and clear at last week's staff discussion forum!). For your reference, here is a complete updated list of each of the three secretary's areas of responsibility.
